Q. What is the average age of attendees at the NHBF
A. The average age will not answer your question. Let me answer like this: About one third of the students are mature adults, over 40 years old. Many of these folks are hobbists. About one third are 20 - 40 years old. A number of these players are professionals. And, the other one third are college and high school students.

Q. I am concerned with the experience level needed to attend? Can I cut it?
A. No worries. Becaue of our cross section of age and skill levels we design classes for all levels. A short 5 minute placement auditon assures that you will be working with others at your level of ability.

Q. How do I know if I am at the level to attend?
A. If you love the bass and want to learn, you are qualified to attend. I promise, you will not be the worst bass player there, and you will not be the best player there.

Q. How is the NHBF different from other bass camps?
A. First off, we don't consider the NHBF a camp. We are offering a school in the middle of a bass festival. If want , you can attend playing classes every hour and work on your playing with top notch professional teachers.You can participate in styled, leveled , ensembles where you work with our faculty and guest artists, and other students. You can also attend intimate concerts multiple times a day presented by outstanding bassists. Or, you can just enjoy the hang. Your choice.

Q. Do I need an amp?
A. No we provide an individual amp for every player in the classes. We also play quiet enough so the double bass players do not need an amp.

Q. Can I play both electric bass and acoustic bass at the NHBF?
A. Of course. We even have a room for safe keeping of your gear.

Q. I am an advanced student at my school. Will there be anything for me at the NHBF?
A. YES. You will be challenged. Our high level class are populated with the some of the best bass students in the world.

Q. I have been teaching bass for many years. What opportuities are there for me to better my teaching?
A. First, you will be able to closely observe highly qualified and experienced teachers at work. Second, you will have access to effective teaching materials and seminars on how to use these materials. Third, great teachers always increase thier effectiveness by imroving thier own playing skills.

Q. Will I have personal contact with the artists?
A. Yes, NHBF is a very intimate setting. You will have ample opportunity to associate with artists and faculty.

Q. Can I just sign up for just one or two days?
A. Yes, but there is no reduced price.

Q. Can I bring my family?
A. Of course your family is welcome to attend our concerts. However we do not offer childcare. New Hampshire is beautiful in the summer.

Q. What about food?
A. A beautiful new cafeteria is in walking distance.

Q. Can I take photos or video the events?
A. Go for it.

Q. Can I get college credit college for attending the NHBF?
A. We are not accredited. We can offer you a certificate of completion in your studies towards Professional Certification.
